Q3 provide the updated structural drawings for Epic and Q3. Both are reviewed and comments are emailed back to Q3 for corrections.
Epic finally provided post to beam connection calculations and it will be included in the final submittal.
Per Epic, the required details for the (3) remaining comments on plans S3.1 and S3.2 should be supplied by either Kabtech or Q3. Behrad emailed Q3 to find out if those details can be provided by Q3.
When the final details are provided by Q3, they need to send the final seismic drawings to Epic for PE stamp.
Industrial waste requested data sheet for the waterjet and 3-stage clarifier and all the data sheets were submitted on 5/7/2026.
Received final approval from Industrial Waste on 5/13/2026 and uploaded the agency clearance to the city’s portal the same day.
Q3 provided ADA-Compliant restroom drawings and requested some extra dimensions on 5/4/2026. Requested measurements were email back to Q3 on 5/5/2026. Per Q3, some modifications to the restrooms such as partition relocation, handrail addition and sinks change will be required.
Epic reviewed Q3’s structural drawings and confirmed they are good. However, upon reviewing the structural drawings, Behrad found out that there are still (4) items that need to be addressed by Epic. The request to Epic was sent on 5/13/2026 and followed up again on 5/20/2026.
Epic responded to some of the structural questions and updated the square shape platform calculations.
Behrad completed all the responses to the city comments. Just waiting on Epic to send the final information to enable Q3 put the submittal together.
Paint Booth inspection is passed and permit is issued. A copy of the permit is emailed to the inspector. Another copy is emailed to Q3 to be included in the submittal. The original copy is given to Alex.
Q3 engineer inspected the building on 4/28/26 and provided the requested submittal for Industrial Waste the same day. Submittal will be emailed to Industrial Waste on 4/28/26.
Revised electrical plans are prepared by NAI and emailed to Q3 to be included in the final submittal.
Revised seismic calcs. for both platforms are provided by Epic and emailed to Q3 to be included in the submittal.
Epic Structural initial Observation form is emailed to Q3 to be included in the final submittal. The issuance of final structural observation form by Epic is pending until NS changes all the base plates after receiving the city approval on the plans.
Q3 provided the structural drawings for Epic. Epic needs to review these drawings and make the necessary comments. Drawings are emailed to Epic on 4/28/26.
Q3 provided responses to the city’s structural comments. Behrad is going to review the responses and finalize them.
Q3 provided structural calcs. for the slab. Calculations will be included in the final submittal.
Q3 provided the structural observation form for the Paint Booth. Form will be included in the final submittal.
Paint Booth Inspection is scheduled for 4/24/2026.
Francis and Q3 agreed on the extra cost for Paint Booth Structural Observation and restroom as-built on 4/21/26.
Paint booth photos & restroom as-builts were prepared and emailed to Q3.
Platforms photos were prepared & emailed to Epic for structural observation. Greg provided the initial Structural observation form, however, the final form for inspection cannot be provided until base plates are changed.
Emailed the Structural observation to Q3 to add to the revised submittal.
Requested Epic to work on the platforms structural calcs. and revised the plans and submit ASAP.
There is no access to restroom ceilings and the drainage as-built cannot be provided by NS.
Requested Q3 to provide proposal for providing code compliance drainage plans for the building to be submitted to industrial waste.
Q3 proposal is approved by Francis and NS has requested Q3 to schedule a site survey to prepare the plans.
Q3 has performed the initial evaluation and recommended 22"x22" base plates for both platforms.
Epic is working on revising the calcs based on the recommended base plates
Q3 has sent the new fee schedule for new slab calcs and (1)structural observation (fees need to be discussed)
Epic can perform Structural observations if NS provides photos of the platforms.
Q3 needs NS to provide as-builts of the restrooms
NS contacted City of LA, County of LA, City of Santa Clarita and Public record. No agency has building plumbing record
NS has received approval on Paint booth plans. Fee is paid. Permit will be issued after inspection. Inspection is requested and followed up on 4/9/26.
